Preventing & Investigating Terrorism

A Chicago InfraGard & ChicagoFIRST

Seminar and Tabletop Exercise

September 1, 2010

8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago

Registration closes 8:00am August 28.

On September 1, 2010, you are invited to participate in a half-day event designed to engage private sector security and business continuity managers with law enforcement and subject matter experts, and to spotlight the constantly evolving terrorism threat in the U.S.

This forum is a unique opportunity to focus on tangible measures that the private sector can take to meet threats head-on, as well as the myriad ways you and your personnel can assist in deterring an attack and in solving the crime if an attack occurs.

  • Subject matter experts will provide background and current state information about terrorism methods and attacks, explain terrorism investigation processes and needs, and describe successful measures for prevention and mitigation.
  • Participants will interact with and learn from law enforcement responders, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Illinois State Police, and the Chicago Police Department.
  • Exercise discussion groups will be faced with diverse threat environments and widely varying facility concerns, and will exchange best practices and ideas with peers.

Chicago’s InfraGard Chapter and ChicagoFIRST are partnering to provide this unique experience to help you and your company prepare for what responders respectfully call “a very bad day.”
